Surviving are three sons, and six daughters -- L.P. Kessler of Iowa City, with whom he has made his home since coming hither from Solon about two years ago; and L.L. Kessler of Newport township; and W.H. Kessler of Alburnette, Iowa; and Mesdames Fannie Adams, Alburnett; Barbara Sargent, Agra, Kas.; Annie Shaver, Solon; Jennie Moore, Audubon; Clara Edwards, Shenandoah; and Lizzie White of Jefferson, Iowa.

Mr. Kessler was widely known throughout this section, and among his pioneer friends, as well as those of younger generation, there will be a lasting and deep sorrow, over the death of a truly worthy citizen.
