James Mulherin, 76, of 1799 Fifth St., Coralville, who for many years was employed as a car salesman at Barron Motor Supply, died Thursday at Mercy Hospital after a short illness.
Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Thomas More Catholic Church with the Rev. Joseph Sparks officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at Donohue-Lensing Mortuary where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Fund.
Mr. Mulherin was born Nov. 2, 1906, in Guthrie Center, Iowa, a son of James and Helen (Faltinson) Mulherin. He married Mary Crock on July 2, 1930, in Rock Island, Ill.
He was a member of St. Thomas More Church and was a graduate of St. Patrick's High School in Fairfax. He retired in 1971.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Roger of Omaha; Lola (Mrs. Philip) Beckwith of Minneapolis; Marilyn (Mrs. Harry) Rogers of Iowa City; Linda Mulherin of Coralville; and Margi (Mrs. Greg) Strub of Guam; two brothers, Harold of Cedar Rapids and Daniel of Pinole, Calif.; three sisters, Dorothy (Mrs. James) Cannon of Coralville, Marjorie (Mrs. J.D.) Hendricks of Des Moines, and Magdalene Wells of Yermo, Calif.; Two brothers and two sisters died earlier.
