DARRELL KEITH HENRY

Darrell Keith Henry, age 50, died June 13, 2007 at his home in Greensboro, NC as a result of a blood clot. A funeral service was held at Forbis & Dick Funeral Home in Greensboro on June 20, 2007. Cremains will be buried at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Greensboro, NC.
Darrell Henry was born May 4, 1957 in Cedar Falls, IA, a son of Gloria Davis Henry and Harvey Henry. He attended elementary school, junior high, and high school in Iowa City. On May 21, 1983 he was married to Diane Drexler from whom he was later divorced.
He was a self-taught professional photographer and webmaster. While in high school, he taught photography classes at Southeast Junior High in Iowa City. In 1975 he opened a studio in Coralville, IA and then purchased Stromsten Studio in Iowa City and served as a photographer for many weddings along with general photography. In 1980 economic conditions forced closing of his studio. He then worked for a short time with Tucker-Thompson Photography in Cedar Rapids before starting work at the University of Iowa Eye Clinic as an Ophthalmic photographer. He was invited to follow a physician to the University of Texas at Galveston and later accepted a position at Bascom-Palmer Eye Center at Miami, FL. He then accepted the position of Director of Photography and Webmaster at the Southeastern Eye Center in Greensboro, NC where he served for 22 years.

Darrell is survived by his daughter Jennifer Ann Henry of Greensboro, his former wife Diane Greene of McLeansville, NC, his sister Marsha Deane (Tenney) of Quincy, FL, his sister Denise Morton (Ron) of Coal Valley, IL, and his brother Martin Henry of Lakewood, CO; his parents Gloria and Harvey Henry of Iowa City, IA.; nephews Henry Deane, Zack Morton, and Drew Morton; nieces Lydia Deane, Carina Henry, Caitlin Morton, and Monica Morton. Many cousins, aunts and uncles are also survivors who mourn his loss.
