Florence M. Wikel age 90 passed away on Friday, October 25, 2002 at Lantern Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Coralville. A memorial service will be at 11:00 am on Monday, October 28, 2002 at the First Christian Church in Coralville. Visitation will be on Sunday from 3:00 to 6 pm at the Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City, Memorials are for the First Christian Church at 900 Lincolnshire Pl. Coralville, IA. 52241.

Florence was born on July 9, 1912 in Marshalltown, Iowa the daughter of Louie and Persis Brown Stehn. She graduated form Marshalltown High School and Marshalltown Business College. She married Clifford Wikel on January 4, 1935 in Marshalltown, they lived in Marshalltown until moving to Iowa City in 1947. She worked as a bookkeeper in the family business, Wikel Typewriter Company for twenty-two years. In 1996 she moved to Walden Place in Iowa City and recently to Lantern Park in Coralville. Florence was a member of the First Christian Church in Iowa City and now of Coralville, the University Women’s Club, P.E.O. Chapter and the Mercy Hospital Guild. She enjoyed playing bridge, doing crossword puzzles, reading and playing the organ and piano.

Her family includes a daughter Janet and husband Paul J. Moore of Solon, a son C. Robert and wife Patricia Wikel of Crete, NE., two grandsons David Wikel of Lawrence, Ks. and Alan and wife Kathy Moore of Chaplin, MN. two granddaughters Jane and husband Rob Pitkin of Overland Park, KA and Gail and husband Kirk Mortenson of Springfield, OH., and nine great-grandchildren.

Her parents, husband, brother Lowell, grandson Steven Wikel preceded her in death.
