Yvonne L. Day, 77 of 1799 5th. Street, Coralville died Saturday, March 31, 2007, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2007, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Iowa City with the Reverend Michael Phillips officiating. Graveside services will be at 2pm at the St. Mary's Cemetery in East Moline, IL. Visitation will be from 4 to 7pm Tuesday at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service where a parish vigil service will be held at 4pm. Yvonne Lillian Herman Day was born February 1, 1930, in Victor, Iowa the daughter of Theophiel and Maria (DeCaluwe) Herman. She attended rural schools in Victor in her youth and later after her family moved to Moline, Illinois she attended high school there. Yvonne worked at the Moline Iron Works and the Leclaire Hotel prior to moving to the Iowa City area in 1960. Here she was employed in food service through the University of Iowa at the Oakdale campus, retiring in 1985.

She was a member of St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Iowa City. Yvonne enjoyed cooking, baking, being outside with mother nature, and spending time with her family and friends.

Her family includes numerous nieces and nephews, including Dennis Herman and his wife, Judy of North Liberty.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Gerard and Albert; and three sisters, Margaret, Sue, and Irma.
