Constance R. Proudfit, age 94 of Legacy Pointe in Iowa City died Monday, July 24, 2006, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Constance was born February 10, 1912, in Neligh, NE, the daughter of John Webb and Sarah E. (Evans) Rice. For a number of years she worked as a court reporter in the Kansas City area. She resided in Kansas City before moving to Lake Havasus City, AZ. In 2002 she moved to Iowa City to be near her family.

Her family includes her son, Herbert K. Proudfit and his wife, Donna Hammond of Iowa City; and a granddaughter, Amanda Ridlington and her husband, Greg of Alexandria, VA.
