Larry J. Jackson, 54 of Iowa City died suddenly Thursday, July 27, 2006 at his home.

Funeral services will be at 11 am, Friday, August 4, 2006 at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Services, Iowa City. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery, Iowa City. Visitation will be from 9 am until service time on Friday, August 4, 2006 at the funeral home. On line condolences for Larry’s family may be sent through our website @ www.gayandciha.com.

Larry was born on March 17, 1952 in Centralia, Illinois; he was the adopted son of Reverend James and Emily (Sykes) Jackson. Larry had been a veteran of the US Navy. Larry married Linda Washpun on April 22, 1983 in East St. Louis, Illinois and shortly there after he and Linda moved to Iowa City. Larry worked at a host of places in Iowa City, including ACT and NCS. Larry enjoyed to fish, bowl, cook and barbeque.

Larry’s family includes his wife, Linda; sons, Kenneth Washpun and his wife, Tara, Eric Washpun and his wife, Mikkea, Justin Washpun and his wife, Chiquita, all of Iowa City and Eric L. Jackson of Washington D.C.; a daughter, LaToya Jackson of Illinois; fourteen grandchildren; brothers, Kenneth Worlds and his wife, Margaret of Odin, Illinois, Robert Worlds and his wife, Debra of Centralia, Illinois, Gerald Warren and his wife, Bridgett of Benton Harbor, Michigan, Erving Warren and his wife, Denise of Benton Harbor, Michigan, Ricky Taggart of Omaha, Nebraska and Rodney Warren of Benton Harbor, Michigan; sisters, Carol Meeks of Omaha, Nebraska, Mona Warren of Elkhart, Indiana and Vannessa Warren of Covington, Louisiana and a host of nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, James and Emily Jackson, his mother, Fannie Warren and a brother, Donald Worlds.

Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Services of Iowa City is caring for Larry’s family and his services.
