Azile Clark Dolder, age 89 of the Lantern Park Care & Rehabilitation Center in Coralville formerly of Oxford died quietly Sunday, February 24, 2002 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 28, 2002 at the Oxford United Methodist Church with the Reverend Diane Townsley officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 7pm Wednesday at the Church. In Lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established in her name. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service of Oxford are caring for her services and family.

Azile Clark Dolder, only child of Harry and Zelma (Meece) Clark, was born July 23, 1912 in Belgrade, Montana. When she was three years of age, the family moved to the vicinity of Livermore, Iowa, where she grew up and graduated from Livermore High School in 1931. Because of a childhood injury, her abilities were limited, so during the next five years she clerked in stores and provided child care.

On the 25th of March, 1936 she and Harold Joseph Dolder of Humboldt were married at the Clark home in Livermore, and they lived most of their married lives in Livermore. For three and one half years, during the late 1940’s, the couple operated a restaurant in Livermore.

After the death of her husband, June 25, 1967, Azile remained in Livermore to care for her aging parents. Following their deaths in 1965 and 1973, she continued to reside in Livermore until February of 1982 when her family moved her to North Liberty to be closed to her two sons and their families. In December of 1988, Azile moved to Oxford where she resided until December of 2000 when she became a resident of Lantern Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Coralville.

She was raised as a member of the Presbyterian Church and later the Methodist Church in Livermore. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in Livermore, having held several offices.

Her family includes two sons and their wives, Harry and Nona Dolder of Oxford, and David and Edna Dolder of Iowa City, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Bruce and his wife Diane Dolder and their children, Jonathan and Benjamin of Iowa City, Brent and his wife, Caroline Dolder and their children, Tyler, Kelsey and Jeremy of Iowa City, Stephanie and her husband, Jim Dawson and their children, Tristan and Ashley of Washington, IA, and Elysia Dolder.
