Faye E. Irvin, age 97 formerly of 1733 F. Avenue, Iowa City, died Thursday, February 21, 2002 at the Iowa City Nursing & Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness.

Private family graveside services will be held at a later date at Oakland Cemetery in Iowa City. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service of Iowa City are caring for Faye’s services and family.

Faye was born November 29, 1904 in Hammond, Indiana, the daughter of Willard and Mary (Peterman) June. On August 19, 1926 she married Willard M. Irvin in Rock Island, Illinois. For over 52 years she worked in various dietary departments at the University of Iowa.

Her family includes three sons, Roger and his wife, Eva Irvin of Iowa City, Jerry and his wife, Lee Irvin of Crestview, FL, and Marc Irvin of Davenport; 13 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy June and Marjorie Green both of Santa Monica, CA, and Nellie Edwards of Plano, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Willard; son, Carroll Irvin, and three brothers and 1 sister.
