Margaret C. Shaw, age 87 of 718 Kimball Avenue, Iowa City, died Saturday, August 10, 2002, at her home following complications of Alzheimers Disease.

Graveside services will be held at 3pm Tuesday at the Oakland Cemetery in Iowa City. Visitation will be from 5 to 7pm Monday at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Memorial Donations can be made in Margaret’s memory to the Alzheimers Foundation. Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service are caring for Margaret’s services and her family.

She was born August 4, 1915 in Iowa City, the daughter of John and Anna Dohrer. She married Ralph E. Shaw on February 7, 1938 in Iowa City. She has been a lifetime resident of Iowa City. Her husband, Ralph died November 25, 1993.

Her family includes, two sons, Kenneth and James Shaw both of Iowa City; four grandchildren, Lucy Cole, Theresa Haddock, Carolyn Vandell, and Kenneth Shaw; eleven great-grandchildren, James, Christopher, Stephanie, and Adam Cole, Matthew and Kathryn Haddock, and Chelsea, Mallory, Bianca, Makayla, and Madeline Shaw; sister, Mildred Ernest of Iowa City, and a brother, John Dohrer of Florida.

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, a great-grandson, Clayton Shaw; and two sisters.
