Anne F. Singer, age 80, a long-time resident of Swarthmore, died Tuesday in her Iowa City home following an extended illness.
Anne chose cremation, with a private family service to be held later. Donations in Anne's name may be made to Iowa City Hospice.

Anne was born on July 18, 1921, in New York City, the daughter of Harry and Frieda Fieger Fleischer. She attended New York schools and married Malvin Singer in 1946. Anne worked outside the home both as a young woman and later in life, but her primary work was as a mother and homemaker for her family. She loved gardening, the outdoors and nature. She also enjoyed reading and keeping up to date on politics and world affairs. Anne moved to Iowa City in December 2000 to live with her daughter, Jane.

Her family includes a daughter, Jane Singer of Iowa City, along with many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, four sisters and one brother.

The Gay and Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service of Iowa City is caring for Anne's arrangements.
