Edwin Ray Goodyear, 87 of Iowa City died at his home following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services will be held on 2pm Friday, January 5, 2007 at Lensing Funeral Home & Cremation Service-605 Kirkwood Ave. Visitation will be one hour before at Lensing Funeral Service. Burial will be in Oakland cemetery.

A Memorial coffee hour will be held from 8:00am-9:30am on Saturday, January 6, 2007 at the Ecumenical Towers in Memory of Eddie Goodyear, Jon Spong and Bea Albrecht.

Eddie was born May 18, 1919 in Mt. Vernon, Iowa. He served in the United States Army during WWII. He worked for a number of years at Finkbine Golf Course and later worked as a desk clerk for the Berkley Hotel until it closed.

He is survived by his nephew Don and Arlene Goodyear, his cousins, Diane and Gary La Voi of Apple Valley, MN., and Dick and Jody Darrah of Tulsa, OK. He is also survived by his good friends, Florence Hayslett, Merrill Sparks and Bob Stika.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Arlo and Don and one sister, Lyda.
