Marguerite S. Twedt, 90, formerly of Iowa City, died Friday November 24, 2006 at Atrium Village in Hills, Iowa.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday November 28, 2006 at St. Wencelaus Catholic Church with Reverend Michael Phillips officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Iowa City. Visitation will be from 4-6 P.M. Monday at Lensing Funeral & Cremation Service, 605 Kirkwood Ave, Iowa City where a rosary will be recited at 4:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Atrium Village, 117 3 St South, Hills, IA 52235, the American Cancer Society, or the Mercy Hospital Foundation.

Marguerite was born on May 23, 1916 in Superior, Wisconsin to Phillip and Emily Kopecky Schuh. She was raised in Duluth, MN and received her B.S. from the college of St. Scholastica in Duluth. Following graduation she moved to Chicago where she began her professional career at the University of Chicago. She married Roy Lester Twedt in 1944. After he completed military service they returned to Chicago where they made their home and raised their family. They spent their retirement years in Nevis, Minnesota where Les passed away in 1991. In 1995 Marguerite moved to Iowa City to be closer to her family.

Marguerite spent her professional years in the field of medical record administration. Her professional roles included educator, director, and consultant. She ended her career at the headquarters of her national professional association.

Marguerite is survived by her two daughters; Julie Anne Quinn (Norman) of Fort Myers, FL, Carol Emily Twedt (Chet Rzonca) of Iowa City, three granddaughters; Kim Griffin of Ankeny, IA, Missy Christians of Solon, IA, Mandy Ostrander of Iowa City, and three great grandchildren; Shelby, Sydney, and Owen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers James and Harold Schuh.
