Mrs. Martin Wonick, a pioneer of Johnson county, died at the home of her son, Joseph Wonick, in Newport township, Sunday evening. She was 73[78?] years of age and had lived in Newport township for half a century. The children are Frank of Iowa City, Joseph and James of Newport township, Will of Morse, Mrs. James Krall of Newport, Mrs. Mary Unash of Solon and Mrs. Anna Baker of Minnesota. The funeral services were held Tuesday morning at the home of her son Joseph."
