Mildred Marie Wineke, 98 of Crestview Care Center, formerly of 914 E. Fairchild Street, died, Thursday, March 2, 2006 at the Care Center.

Visitation will be one hour before the service at Lensing Funeral Service, 605 Kirkwood Ave. Iowa City. A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Monday, March 6 at Lensing Funeral Service. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to Crestview Care Center.

Mildred Marie Wineke was born June 22, 1907 in Sharon Township, the daughter of John and Sophia (Scholpp) Klein. On June 27, 1936 she married Leo Alfred Wineke.

She is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins and one sister-in-law, Doris Lang of Tipton, IA.

Mildred is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leo Wineke, three sisters, Clarissa Avis, Ann Zeman, Helen Kouba and by three brothers.
