Annual Christmas bluegrass Dec. 14

The Great Bluegrass Herons and Friends Annual Christmas Concert is coming at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 14, at the Sharon Center United Methodist Church. A line up of talented musicians will be performing to provide a musical celebration of Christ's birth.
Anchoring the concert will be the Great Bluegrass Herons, Paul and Julie Roberts and Mark and Janet Wilson, who have brought authentic Bluegrass music to Iowa for over 20 years.
Guest musicians include the Banjoy Band: Bob and Kristi Black, Zach Grimm, Mark Wilson and Paul Roberts. Bob Black is well known to banjo fans as a former member of the Bill Monroe Bluegrass Boys Band.
The Castleridge Trio is coming from Tiffin and Marengo: Joy Ward, Mark Clark and Roger Anderson; and the Andy Wilcom Trio from Kalona: Atlee and Carolyn Yoder and Sam Williams.
Mary Roberts-Rathje of Marion (formerly from Sharon Center) will be singing, and Meg Merckens-co-founder of ITAG Theater in Main Amana - will also share her talents.
Light refreshments will be served, and a free-will offering taken to cover expenses of the professional musicians.
For an evening of good music, light-hearted humor and good-will, come on December 14 to Sharon Center United Methodist Church in southwest Johnson County on 520th Street, 3 miles east of Highway 1 or 1 mile east of Sharon Center Road.
