Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Yoder Will Make New Home On College StreetNow at home at 935 East College Street are Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Yoder, whose marriage was solemnized Wednesday in the parsonage of the Christian Church. Mrs. Yoder is the former Marietta Hartzler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hartzler of Kalona, and Mr. Yoder is the son of Mr. Omar Yoder of Sharon.
The Rev. Raymond Ludwigson officiated at the wedding service, and attending the couple were Miss Charlotte Yoder, a sister of the bridegroom, and Mr. Roy Meer of Sharon.
The bride's gown was of white satin and lace, and her fingertip-length veil, which fell from a seed pearl tiara, was of white net. She carried a bouquet of white roses.
Miss Yoder was attired in a gown of pink taffeta and lace. Her bouquet was of white carnations.
A wedding reception for a large group of the couple's friends was held at the home of the bride's parents immediately following the ceremony.
Both Mr. and Mrs. Yoder are graduates of Sharon High School. The bride has been employed by the Montgomery Ward company, and her husband is engaged in farming.
A post-nuptial courtesy was given for Mrs. Yoder Monday evening by Mrs. Roy Bontrager of Frytown, Mrs. Orville Hora of West Branch, and Mrs. Eldon Miller, 415 Seventh Avenue. The affair, a miscellaneous shower, took place in the Miller house.
The evening was passed in embroidering tea towels and a luncheon set for the bride's new home.
Included in the courtesy were Mrs. Vernon Wright and Miss Mary Potter, both of West Liberty; Miss Charlotte Yoder and Mrs. Glen Yoder, both of Sharon; Mrs. Herbert Hartzler and Judith, Ruth and Wilma, all of Kalona; Mrs. Vincent Odom of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and Mrs. Mary Harding.
