I just could not resist answering you. Did you ever make it to Fairfield and Pl.Plain to dig your roots.??

I peaked at his wife's obit in l97l which is in my basement files and said she and Clyde Bell were married ll Jun l903 so looked in those marriage records I typed so many years ago and he was son of Thomas Bell and Ida Seaman and was born at Rome, Henry Co Iowa.

Mabels obit said she was surv. by Mrs. Carlos Watson of Richland, Mrs Gerald Snuggs of Albuquerque NM and Harold Bell of Ft Worth Tx.

Just got home from hauling a load of fat cattle to Kalona, the closest market now that is left for us in southeast Iowa. We haul them ourselves and we did not have to wait in line to get unloaded like usual. Gas is $3.00 today in Fairfield, at the BP station and get to Kalona and it was $2.75 at their BP station.
Never saw such a spread in prices - often 5 cents
