I am the one who put all the l44 soldier's pictures in the file drawer some years ago.
His picture is identified in print on the folder as "" Martin K Russell Co I 168th Inf 42nd div 84th Brig. Rainbow Division AEF France l9l7-18-19 U S National Guard.""

These pictures often had who the picture was to be returned to after a book was published but his did not. To be in this collection, they would have had to have a Jefferson County connectionto be in the planned book. I do not find A .E .or Letisha buried in this county.

Nor is there a birth record here in l897 of Martin K. Russell in the 7 families listed in the birth book for RUSSELL's and A. E. and wife are not one of the 7 families.

Have you found Martin age 3 yrs old on a 1900 census?
