Jefferson County, Iowa Death certificate #89 states that Stella Rayls died November 12, 1936 at the Jefferson County Hospital in Fairfield, Iowa. Cause of death was exhaustion and acute dementia. She had been hospitalized four days with acute dementia having its onset about October 29, 1936. Acute illness about 14 days. She was 40 years, 6 months, 15 days having been born April 27, 1896 in Glenwood, Missouri to John Franklin and Lillie Ann Rayls.

Funeral Services for Miss Stella Ryals, teacher in Keokuk and Washington county schools more than 20 years, were held at the Friends church Saturday afternoon. Interment was in Ollie cemetery. Rev. L. E. Wines officiated.
