I am a Certified Genealogist myself, and have been around almost as long as Verda. I still e-mail her and miss her input. She was such a great help to all. I remember the time when she didn't want anything to do with comouters. Now you know; that was indeed a long time ago.

I will send my request to the library to copy the obit for me. Would you happen to know the fee for this search?

We at Wapello County are so glad to have Bill Hansen, and other researchers. They generally do the look ups for free, but I always send monies anyway. When Bill has time, he goes into town and does look ups. I have offered to pay him, but he says no. It all started as a hobbie for him as it did for me. I myself just take donations to buy more Genealogical books to share with others. They just send me what they think it is worth to copy documents.

My LANIGAN family were poor Irish railroad workers and helped build the railroad from NY to Jefferson County Iowa. They only lived in Lockridge for abt. 10 years and then moved on to Ottumwa.
