Natural gas line erupted

CEDAR TOWNSHIP, JEFFERSON COUNTY, IOWA

What year, approximately l965 to l970 did the
natural gas pipeline that goes northeast
out of Birmingham IA to Yarmouth IA erupt
in Cedar Township, Jefferson County near the
farm of Guy Fry west side of the road. It happened in the early morning when I was
hanging clothes outside on our clothesline.

Was it ever in the local newspapers? There is
no one living that seems to remember it happening
and I am 86 and it seems like just "yesterday"
