Received the Ireland probate. It doesn’t tell all I hoped, but is a good reference. Not sure why legal action against Almedia Ireland’s children and stepchildren. It may have been to clear title for selling land or transferring title to settle the estate. They had to have guardian since were minors. It was a temporary action called ad litem. There are probably other court records, guardian or orphan court which show further family details. I am pretty certain now that Alexander Ireland is unrelated to my John Alexander Ireland, but would still not bet the farm.
Since we have the descriptions of Alexander’s land in Jefferson County, I can try to locate it in relation to JA Ireland land, that is did they have adjacent land and how did they acquire it?
