I am searching for information on my Great Grandfather, William Arnold Minor, born July 18, 1877 in Fairfield, Iowa. I have been told he was adopted because his parents was an indian woman and French soldier during this time. I am trying to get confirmation on this. If this is not accurate, I would like to determine who his real parents are. I have searched many documents, but most records are contradictory. Iowa does not have birth records before 1880 I believe. Thank you.
