Thanks for the info. I do have this already but I'm questioning the authenticity of this. DAR has told me that I have to prove the Elizabeth is definitely the dau. of Salathiel. There seems to be some confusion about this. I'm trying to find her parents. On Ancestry.com, the Salathiel Martin Bible was posted and his Elizabeth was born in March of 17?. She is positioned between a brother b. 1785 and a brother b. 1789. It seems to me that would indicate that she was b. abt. 1787 and some people are using that date. Her tombstone, however, in Leon, Decatur, Ia. has her b. date as 15 Sep 1795. So I'm trying to find a Martin family in NC who had a dau. named Elizabeth and was b. 1795. So far, no luck.
It was nice to talk to you a bit last fall at the funeral of Kathleen. I wish we'd had time to talk more.
I don't believe Elizabeth had any of her Martin family come to Ia. with them. They were Dunkards or Brethren and they seem to have followed where the Dunkards were settling. Thanks for your help.
