Aaron EMANUEL does not appear in the county's burials, either with or without a gravestone. Only two EMANUEL burials are noted in the county at this point, in Evergreen Cemetery: Donald in 1977 and his wife Dorothy in 2001.

According to early county marriages on the Jefferson County website (1838-1880), William EMANUEL and Elizabeth CHANEY were married on August 27, 1857, not the November 19th date cited by Mary Ellen Lanigan ("Irish Eyes Are Smiling" on Find A Grave); this was Marriage #1564.

Additionally, Iowa did not require vital records to be kept at the county level until July, 1880, so there will not be a death certificate available for an 1858 death.

If you have proof that Aaron EMANUEL is buried in Batavia Cemetery, Jefferson County, please provide it and I'll update the cemetery listing on the county site.
