Thanks, Mary, for your quick response. Since Minnie Adams was on 1880 Jefferson Co. IA census and not on the 1885 Osborne Co. KS census I presumed she must have died in Fairfield. I checked deaths in KS but there was nothing. She may have died in the short time period between 1880-1884, when I know records were sporadic.
Appreciate your help!

Do you know if the obits posted on index cards in Faifield Library are indexed that there might be something for ADAMS? I recall looking at them several years ago for someone else but don't remember if they're filed by date of death order or by surname.
