1856 Census McGUIRE families of Jefferson County Iowa

James McGUIRE Fairfield age 65 b:PA, has 6 people in his family and has been here for less than 1 year.

Charles McGUIRE Lockridge; age 38 b:OH has 5 people in his family and has been here for 16y.

Mrs. Margaret Liberty; McGUIRE age 48 b:KY has 5 people in her home and has been here for 14 years.

Thomas McGUIRE Lockridge; age 52 b:NC has 2 people in his home and has been here for 1year.

Early Land Records:

Lockridge TWP

Harry BOARDMAN & Charles M. McGUIRE bought 36 acres; Lockridge TWP; June 01, 1852. lot #1 / 2 sec twp 72 range 8.

On the same day, they also purchased swamp land; 617.34 acres. Same area and range.

Liberty TWP

James McGUIRE bought 160 acres; July 08, 1843; sec 27 twp 71 range 10.
