The following is found in the Jefferson County marriages 1880-1889 book on file at the Fairfield Public Library:

Peter S. Orendorf, 23, Farmer, Res. in Aurora, Neb., Born in Md. Father: Joseph Orendorf. Mother: Eliza Eckenrod Orendorf.

Married on January 15, 1889 in Fairfield, Iowa by H.B. Kelley, Min.

To:

Francis C. Wickless, 23, of Glasgow, Iowa. Born in Iowa. Father: John Wickless. Mother: Eliza Grimes Wickless.

1st marriage for both.
