In Response To: Question on Marriage records 1861 (Dale Ellsworth Hamaker)

This morning I looked at the original 1861 marriage record on file at the Jefferson Courthouse; the marriage records back then tended to be only the names of the bride and groom, the application and marriage date, and a certification by the minister or justice of the peace to the effect that they did indeed marry the couple (perhaps giving the location). In this case, that is true to form. No mention of the parent's names were given for either the bride or groom.

I didn't find any other Ellsworth family group sheets on file in the genealogy section of the Fairfield Library either.

I'm sorry that this doesn't help you with finding William's mother's name.

/Richard
