James Groff nor his wife are buried in Jefferson
County, Iowa. In l864 he was declared insane,
listed wife as Elizabeth and Henry B. Mitchell
was appointed his guardian. One son Benjamin
died in the Civil War. Refernce was Box #8 of
Guardianships at the courthouse house Clerk of Ct.
