Dear Nathan:
Yes, license number l646 in Jefferson County indicates they were married here by A. Steever, a
Justice of the Peace. There are a total of l2
marriages of the Wendling children of George and
Catherine that took place here It is in volume #8 page 262 of Our Jefferson County Iowa Ancestors.
Marriages in Iowa do not show parents names so it
is a dead end on Daniel Weber.

In the l856 census he is living with the Shafer
family....he is born in Bavaria, and has been in
the state of Iowa for 3 years, and is l9 yrs old.

I will write to you at your own e.mail to quote
a price on copy of the marriage, as well as
copy of the Wendling sheet. It has names of 3 other descendants of this same family that you
can contact.
