Glasgow Iowa never had a newspaper. Was a small
town of about 20 houses back then, maybe less than
10 families now in 2007. Glasgow is l2 miles from
Fairfield where the "Ledger" was published. What
was so special that a black fella would even have
come to the area? No great baseball diamond for sure unless someones pasture. Doubt if you find anyone who will read old
papers hunting a" needle in a haystack" There were no blacks in that rural farming area in l9l4/l6. Verda
