I am descended from Jesse's brother Henry Austin and have information on the family. Feel free to contact me if you're still interested (no money required, but would like an exchange of info).

I believe and have heard from other cousins that Jesse Gum Ginkens (father of Jesse Frank and Henry Austin) is the child of Andrew and Nellie (Gum) Jenkins, but have no primary (or secondary) source to back this up. If anyone knows of sources for this, I would love to hear from you. I live in Germany so traveling to Iowa is REALLY out of the question. Thanks!
