Dear Mary:
It has certainly been at least l0 years ago I copied the l860 mortality schedule in Des Moines State Hist. Library. There were the 7 listed from Lockridge Township, 6 children and l adult. one child was Bridget Lanigan age l year born in Iowa died in May l860 of "hooping cough" sick 7 days. At the time decided the father must have been on the work gang that helped put the first railroad thru our county of Jefferson family was living in no doubt a railroad box car from the inumeration.
Don't you remember our old correspondence back then? Maybe it is more than l0 years - only you know for sure. Verda Baird
