If a person died in Decatur Co. or Henry Co. what newspaper would the obituary most likely have been printed?

Fred HAMPTON, born in Jefferson Co., 1878-79, married in Decatur Co. in 1900, and living in Henry Co. when he registered for WW I draft, 1917. He was then working on the railroad. I can't find him on 1910 census. 1920 Decatur Co. census, his wife indicated she was a widow. I don't know when or where Fred Hampton died and I'd like to find his obituary. Would a Fairfield newspaper be the one most likely to have published his obituary if he died in Decatur or Henry Co.? Interested specifically in time period 1917-1920.

Thanks for any help.
