BATAVIA. Fred SUMNER, 81, Batavia, died Wed. 2:30 p.m. St. Joseph Hospital in Ottumwa. Heart attack. Bur. Batavia Cemetery.

Born May 12, 1883, in Knox Co., Ill., son of Thomas R. and Jane RAMBO SUMNER. Was a farm operator in the Batavia area for many years, later working as a car salesman.

Survived by one brother, Don SUMNER, Ottumwa. One daughter, two brothers, and two sisters preceded him in death.
