OTTUMWA. Verne S. PARKER, 76, father of Leland PARKER, 1104 S. Fifth, Fairfield, died Tues. at Ottumwa. His home was at Westgate Towers. Johnson Funeral Home in Ottumwa. Burial in Batavia Cemetery.

A retired farmer, he was born Apr. 12, 1895, in Wapello County, son of Lee and Edna PARKER; had lived in Ottumwa since 1947. Married Mary M. CHANNEL July 9, 1950, in Lancaster, Mo. She survives.

In addition to his son Leland, also survived by another son, Wayne, Ottumwa; two daughters, Mrs. Cora JOHNSON, Grand Junction, Colo.; and Mrs. Eva ELLIOTT, Ottumwa; grandchildren; four stepsons, three stepdaughters; two brothers, Charles, Batavia, and Henry, Howell, Mich., and a sister Mrs. Beulah SWIFT, Ottumwa. Preceded in death by three sisters.
