Oscar Bernard NELSON, 47, died Sun. in Ottumwa Hospital. Heart attack. Raymond Funeral Home. Bur. Evergreen Cemetery, Fairfield. Funeral Wed. 10:30 a.m. in Barhydt Chapel.... Coach at Parsons College.

Born April 3, 1921, at Batavia, son of Carl E. and Margaret REDMAN NELSON. Reared in Batavia, grad. HS there in 1938. Married Eunice C. FRICKE Nov. 28, 1945. Veteran of World War II. Retired Colonel, Iowa National Guard.

Survived by widow and six children: Marilyn NELSON, Keokuk; Richard NELSON, student at Kansas University; Sarah, Kathryn, Robert and Cynthia, all at home; brothers and sisters: Mrs. Theodore SHIMKUS, Southboro, Mass.; Mrs. William COUNTRYMAN, Albuquerque, N.M.; Cmdr. (ret.) Eugene NELSON, Key West, Fla.; and Raymond NELSON, Salem, Mo. Member Presbyterian Church, Elks Lodge and VFW.
