Born Oct. 25, 1884, in Jefferson County, son of James and Emma GREENLAND McDOWELL; married Eva BRADSHAW Jan. 1, 1908. She preceded him in 1958. Member Round Prairie Bapt. Ch.

Survived by children: Mrs. Charles PARKER, Batavia; Mrs. Seldon SMITH, Lockridge; James, Mt. Pleasant; Harold, Agency; Harley, Edward, Eugene and Ronald, all of Ottumwa; 31 grandchildren; 24 grgrchn; one sister, Mrs. Sarah BLACK, and one brother, Ralph McDOWELL, both of Batavia.
