"Fairfield Ledger", Wed., Dec. 31, 1890, Pg. 3, Col. 2

Says Monday's "Ottumwa Courier", of a former Jefferson County family: "James Troy McDILL, in his 18th year, son of T. W. McDILL, died on Sat., Dec. 27, 1890, of consumption. The remains were taken to Batavia today for interment in the family burial ground. The McDILL family has been greatly afflicted. Two daughters, the mother and one son have fallen by the same disease within three years."
