BATAVIA, Ia. -- Thomas KRUMBOLTZ, 82, well known resident of the Batavia community, died this morning at 8:15 a.m.
He was walking from his home to the Batavia business district, a distance of about four blocks, when he fell and died suddenly.
Jefferson county coroner Jack Raymond was called but he said there will be no inquest. He said death was caused by natural causes, and not by the fall.
Thomas KRUMBOLTZ, 82, was born Nov. 20, 1875, in Jefferson county, the son of John and Wilhelmina KOCH KRUMBOLTZ. He had been a resident of Jefferson County all of his life, and had farmed in the Batavia community since 1901. He moved to Batavia in 1954.
He was united in marriage to Pearl CLARK Jan. 4, 1905, who survives. Other survivors include one brother, John KRUMBOLTZ, Fairfield. He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
Last rites will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Campbell Funeral Home in Batavia with the Rev. Kermit Black in charge. Burial will be in the Batavia Cemetery.
