John G. HUGHELL, 74, R.1, Batavia, died Fri. evening at Jefferson County Hospital. Raymond Funeral Home. Bur. Brethren Cemetery.

Lifelong resident of this county, born Dec. 8, 1894, in Jefferson County, son of Marion and Susan HIDY HUGHELL. Farmed in the area during his entire lifetime; married Anna B. NEFF Dec. 25, 1919, at Saunemin, Ill. He served with the armed forces in World War I, and was a member of the United Methodist Church and American Legion.

Survived by widow; one son, David HUGHELL of Flat Woods, Ky.; two daughters, Mrs. Richard THOMAS of Winters, Tex., and Mrs. Vernon PARCEL of Davenport; nine grandchildren and one grgrson and one sister, Mrs. Mary KULSRUD of Riverdale, Md. Preceded in death by one son and two grandsons.
