James Kent HUGHELL, 40, Jefferson County farmer, died last night at University Hospital in Iowa City. Raymond Funeral Home. Bur. Brethren Cemetery s.e. of Batavia.

Born Jan. 25, 1925, at Batavia, son of John and Anna NEFF HUGHELL; reared and educated in the Batavia community. July 30, 1950, married Janet MASON in Fairfield; she survives. Member Methodist Church, served in the Marines during World War II, member American Legion, Moose, and NFO.

Also survived by three children, Randall Edwin, Kelly Lee, and Debra Sue, all at home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John HUGHELL, R.1, Batavia; one brother David of Brownfield, Texas; and two sisters, Mrs. Richard THOMAS, Winters, Texas, and Mrs. Vernon PARCEL, Davenport.
