Mrs. HITE, 91 (sic), Taken In Death

Mrs. Bertha Elizabeth HITE, 94, 500 S. Maple, died at 5:50 a.m. today at the Fairfield Convalescent Home where she had been a patient since January.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 16, at 2 p.m. in the Batavia Methodist church. REv. John Nye will have charge with burial in Batavia cemetery. The Pedrick Funeral Home at Douds will be in charge of arrangements. The body will be taken from the Funeral Home to the church Monday morning at 11 o'clock.

Mrs. HITE was born Feb. 18, 1873 in Wapello County the daughter of James J. and Mary PUMPHREY ACTON. She spent her entire life in Wapello and Jefferson counties and lived in Batavia until moving to Fairfield in Sept. 1964. She was married to Frank HITE Nov. 27, 1897 and he preceded her in death as did one daughter, Mrs. Mary DAY, one grandson, three brothers and two sisters.

She was a member of the Batavia Methodist Church and a charter member of the WSCS.

Surviving are one son, Harold HITE of Fairfield and one sister, Mrs. J. O. LOY of Batavia.
