BATAVIA. Geo. Franklin HITE, 75, died at his home in Batavia Tues. Nov. 30. Because of paralysis he had been an invalid for more than seven years.

Born on a farm s.e. of Ottumwa Aug. 1, 1862, son of Luther and Elizabeth MACRO HITE, and spent entire life in Wapello and Jefferson Counties. Became a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ottumwa in 1879. Both his parents and grandparents were organizing members of this church when founded in 1853. Later his membership was changed to the M.E. Church in Batavia.

Survived by wife Bertha, a son Harold, and a daughter Mrs. Mary DAY all of Batavia, and a half-brother, Harvey HITE of near Ottumwa. Batavia Cemetery.
