Mrs. Ed HARRIS, 89, longtime resident of the Batavia community, died Tues. in Ottumwa. Bur. Batavia Cemetery,

Born July 13, 1879, in Wapello Co., daughter of W.W. and Martha PORTER STERNER; spent most of her life in the Batavia community. Member Bladensburg Christian Church. Married James E. HARRIS in 1899; he died in 1964.

Survivors include two sons, Loy HARRIS, city clerk in Fairfield, and Ralph E. HARRIS, Keokuk; one grandson, 3 grgrchn, and a sister Mrs. Russell HEDGE, Batavia. Preceded in death by husband, three sisters, and two brothers.
