James Ed HARRIS, 84, resident of Fairfield for the past four years, died at 9:10 p.m. Fri. at Jefferson Co. Hospital.

Before moving to Fairfield in 1960 he had lived in the Batavia community all his life. He was a retured farmer.... Bur. Batavia Cemetery. Masonic rites.....

Born Oct. 7, 1879, in Jefferson County, son of Jason and Martha HARRIS. Lived most of his life in the Batavia community; married in 1900 Eva STERNER who survives.... also survived by two sons, Loy HARRIS, Fairfield, who is city clerk; Ralph HARRIS, Keokuk; one grandson and 3 grgrchn. Preceded in death by three brothers & 2 sisters.
