Lovilia, Ia.---Daniel W. MANNHARDT, born Jefferson County Apr. 5, 1872, son of Mr. and Mrs. Zachary MANNHARDT; died yesterday. Stroke. Married Nov. 24, 1904 at East Pleasant Plain, Theresa KURTZ who died in 1941. Lived several years in Washington where he was manager of the telephone company. Had two brothers, Fred and Herman. Survived by two sons, Rev. C. D. MANNHARDT of Lovilia, and Paul J. MANNHARDT of Davenport, and Mrs. Ida HOSIER, Evanston, Ill., and a brother Fred of Muscatine. Burial in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, East Pleasant Plain. Member Catholic Ch.

Daniel W. MANNHARDT Dies at Lovila (sic - Lovilia) Today

Daniel W. MANNHARDT, 83, former Washington business man, died this morning at the home of a son, Rev. Charles MANNHARDT, with whom he had made his home for several years.

Mr. MANNHARDT was manager of the electric light company here many years ago. He later managed the telephone company before opening an electrical parts shop in Washington. In 1923 he went to Davenport where he was engaged in the wholesale electrical business until his retirement in 1931.

Mr. and Mrs. MANNHARDT then went to Pleasant Plain where they lived until her death about 14 years ago.

Funeral services will be held Saturday in St. Joseph's Catholic church at East Pleasant Plain.

He is survived by his two sons, Charles, and Paul J. of Davenport.

Funeral Saturday For Daniel W. MANNHARDT

Funeral services for Daniel W. MANNHARDT, former Washington resident, will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph's Catholic church at East Pleasant Plain. Burial will be in the cemetery there.

Mass will be held at St. Peters church in Lovilia (note: in Monroe Co., IA) at 10 a.m. Friday and the body will then be brought to the Omar Hoskins funeral home in Brighton. Rosary will be recited there at 8 p.m. Friday.

Mr. MANHARDT (sic), 83, died at 7:20 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph hospital in Ottumwa (note: in Wapello Co., IA). He had been living with his son, Rev. Charles MANNHARDT at Lovilia for the past 10 years.

He was born in Jefferson county April 5, 1872, in the Germanville community. He was married at East Pleasant Plain to Theresa KURTZ who died in 1941.

For several years they lived in Washington. He was engaged in business activities here until 1924 when he moved to Davenport. He returned to East Pleasant Plain in 1933 and lived there until the death of Mrs. MANNHARDT.

Survivors include two sons, Rev. MANNHARDT of Lovilia and Paul J. MANNHARDT of Davenport; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Etta LOVELESS of Davenport and Mrs. Ida HOSIER of Evanston, Ill., and a brother, Fred of Muscatine.
