BATAVIA, IA. Sanford FETTERS, 80, long-time resident of the Batavia community, died today at St. Joseph Hospital in Ottumwa....

Born Feb. 24, 1884, in Pennsylvania, son of George and Elizabeth FETTERS; married Mamie SWARTOUT Feb. 24, 1909. Farmed near Batavia from 1915 to 1944, when they retired and moved to Batavia where he operated the Batavia pool hall for a number of years.

Survived by wife, one daughter, Mrs. Elsie GOBBLE, Mathersville, Ill.; two sons, Earl T. FETTERS, Ottumwa, and Myron S. FETTERS, Milton; 12 grandchildren and 4 grgrchn, and a sister, Mrs. Ed. HICKS, Reynolds, Ill. Preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.
